cott Blagden has been involved in new home construction,
land development and real estate marketing since 1981.
He grew up in
Foxboro, MA and spent many years in real estate in that area. He purchased a
summer home in Wareham in 1992, and after the first summer, has been a
year-round resident ever since. Living on the ocean is a unique
experience. The moment you get home, youre on vacation. Its hard to
explain, except to someone who lives on the water, says Scott.
n
1994, Scott began developing some oceanfront land off Cromesett Road in
Wareham known as Twin's Beach Lane and
. His vision for the site is to offer families
& empty-nesters the unique opportunity to live the waterfront life
in a truly custom home, without the hassle of a home on stilts.
ost
people I meet with don't want a home on stilts. They want their master suite
on the first floor, but they also want plenty of other space so
family and friends can visit. They also want to live in a place where they can
step out their back door and take a stroll through the woods, beachcomb,
swim, fish or go boating. I'm addressing those issues by building the homes
outside of the high wind, high wave flood zones, and preserving the 25 acres of
oceanfront land for walking, boating and fishing. Its really a win-win
situation on many levels.
he house designs offer open floor plans with lots of
light and vaulted spaces. They are also fully customizable.
And the site planning and landscape design gets just as much attention.
The concept of the site is that the lot and the "streetscape" should be
as well furnished as the inside of the home, says Scott. The lots
feel different, less "subdivisiony," more like old-time New England with less
structure than the typical subdivision. The site design captures the
essence of the surrounding woods, beaches and saltmarshes. This makes
particularly unique.
is truly a labor of love for Scott Blagden, who lives in one of
the new homes he built last year. The oceanfront land is absolutely
magnificent. There's 25 acres of open space with a half mile of oceanfrontage.
It's truly pristine.
